Designed by Robert Berthet the course has been imaginatively laid out on the site of the historic Fort Vallieres,  one of the chain of star-shaped Vauban fortresses that are still to be found all over this region of France.

 

There are now 3 sets of 9 holes, enabling a variety of combinations to be played.   Some of the new holes added  a couple of years ago are unusual to say the least, with obstacles, such as stone walls, that contribute a rather surreal element.     

 

The original holes are set in a green undulating landscape with plenty of watery obstacles.  The clubhouse is modern and pleasant and there is now a restaurant and bar where you’ll find the members are friendly and hospitable.
