Euroferries’ latest announcement and P&O’s £7.50 day return

After delaying, without explanation, the start of their service originally scheduled for November 14, Euroferries promised today, in a new Press Release, that the service would be launched in the near future.   We await further news!

The company says that bookings for 2010 for foot passengers, cars, vans, motorhomes, minibuses, caravans, trailers, coaches and bikes can all be made now online on the company’s website www.euroferries.co.uk

Meanwhile, P&O Ferries have announced they will be offering, from December 1 until the end of the year, a £7.50 day return fare for a car and 2 passengers.  The offer will be limited to certain sailings, and it is not known at present if it will be available for trips starting from Calais or only for outings to France from Dover.  Click for details

And smart, comfortable passenger terminals, too

autumn 120x600

The Euroferries service may offer some advantages for Frogsiders readers.  The crossing time will be only 75 minutes, and the check-in time only 30 minutes before departure, so  the overall journey time for shopping trips to Canterbury or Bluewater may be significanlty reduced.  The new terminal facilities at Boulogne and Ramsgate will make the journey more comfortable for families and foot passengers in particular, and for many, the driving distances will be reduced on both sides of the channel.  Currently tickets are available online for only £49 for the return day trip for a car and up to  five passengers.

Euroferries are promising a high level of service both onboard and in their dedicated terminals, where there are restaurants, bars and “tax paid” boutiques.  In addition, a “Gold” First Class upgrade will be available  at £15 per passenger, offering higher levels of comfort and service in an exclusive onboard lounge.

Competiton on the cross channel routes is usually good news for Frogsiders readers, so we welcome this new service and will report  further news and developments at the earliest opportunity

NEWS ANNOUNCED 29/10/2009

From today customers who purchase Euroferries tickets online will also receive complimentary European travel insurance for trips returning within 8 days.

Euroferries provides the fastest crossing available between the ports of Ramsgate and Boulogne and is the first travel operator to offer such free travel insurance to its customers.

Further information regarding insurance cover and policy can be found on Euroferries website
